From the beginning…
Mother & daughter both find their inspiration to create & share their love of food from their baking lessons as children taught by Elaine’s Mother, Shirley Palmer, Elaine took this passion and put it into action, opening her own cafe in Eastwood on the 4th July 2011. A small family business which has grown to be something really special.
In 2019 Bees Knees Catering was founded & opened a canteen for the workers in a busy bakery in Watnall. 2 years later Elaine & Rachael set to work on the Bees Knees Deli & Cookery School. We love what we do & love working together with our Bees Knees family to bring you the best!

Elaine has over 15 years of experience in catering and hospitality, Elaine has a passion for great food and loves to create the wow factor wherever she can. Always likes to think outside the box to bring something a bit different whilst always putting the customer’s needs at the top of her priorities.
Rachael has over experience in catering and hospitality. She has a passion for food, but her true joy comes from learning and sharing the history and origins of food and culture that unite people. Rachael’s most significant accomplishment is being a co-owner of Bees Knees, where she delights in collaborating with Elaine.
Hi, I’m Daryl owner of Wonky Walrus Catering. With over 16 years of experience in professional kitchens from fine dining to sport arenas, Pubs to restaurants, I’ve gained a great level of experience, skills and knowledge throughout may different cooking styles, flavours & preferences.I’m passionate about sharing real-world skills, building confidence in the kitchen, and helping students understand why and how — all in a supportive, hands-on environment.
